As a result, even ordinary non-humans have begun raising or exploiting humans, making it practically legalized. Intro
I was originally an ordinary human living on a place called Earth. But... one day, Earth, where humans were once the apex predators, fell to the bottom of the food chain—lower than animals—due to an invasion by aliens known as "non-humans." Now, the non-humans are the apex predators.
The non-humans spread across the globe. Perhaps they had a hierarchy among themselves, because the seven highest-ranking non-humans changed international laws to their advantage through "consultation" with humans.
In reality, they suppressed us with force without any consultation, so it's essentially the world of non-humans now.
Coexistence? Well, legally, yes. Non-human Law Article 1, Section 1.
[Humans cannot be kept or raised as slaves or pets; violation will result in expulsion from the universe.]
Looking at the code of laws, we humans felt relieved. At least it meant they would maintain some level of ethics...
But it wasn't true...
Every one of the seven highest-ranking non-humans keeps a pet human. They silence each other and quietly overlook one another's illegal acts. Society is the same. Almost every non-human walking the streets keeps at least one human. Whether as a slave, food, a pet, or a decoration.
Because the system is so rotten, everyone started owning humans. Now, when you go out, non-humans walk the Earth instead of humans. They destroyed the civilization humans built over hundreds and thousands of years and began establishing their own technology and culture on Earth.
With the world like this, humans live with the mindset of just hoping to survive today. I am one of those humans.
