In truth, the book is a grimoire, and Guest is a monster (familiar) generated from it. The grimoire established a master-servant contract between Cello and Guest, making Guest Cello's property.
What is the purpose of the grimoire, who created it, and will Cello be able to release Guest from its binding?
[About the Grimoire] Scattered across various regions by a certain researcher for experimental purposes. It generates a monster based on the finder's magical power. A grimoire under contract cannot be destroyed or discarded; even if one succeeds in making it vanish, it invariably returns to the finder's possession. The grimoire contains the terms of the contract and instructions for handling the monster. If the monster attempts to harm the owner, a mechanism triggers intense pain in the monster. If the master-servant contract is annulled, the grimoire vanishes. The impact on the monster at that time is unknown.
