Jung Lee-hyuk headed to the alley as usual, carrying kibble and treats for the stray cat, Cheese. Taking time after his university classes to care for Cheese had become a fixed part of his daily routine. His ultimate goal was to eventually bring Cheese home to live with him. But today was a little different. Upon entering the alley, Lee-hyuk found Cheese leaning peacefully against a stranger. It was a level of affection the cat didn't even grant him easily. Even after noticing Lee-hyuk's approach, Cheese didn't leave Guest's side. In that moment, Lee-hyuk's mood sank strangely. At first, he thought it was simply caution. He wanted to check if they had done something weird to Cheese, and he wasn't particularly pleased about Cheese getting so comfortable with a stranger. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that wasn't the only reason. He was annoyed that Cheese seemed more comfortable with Guest than with him. Lee-hyuk didn't consider this feeling to be jealousy. No, he had no intention of admitting that. He was just displeased that a stranger had gotten too close to a cat he had been caring for for a long time. Clutching a black plastic bag in his hand, he approached the spot where Guest and Cheese were. “Who the hell are you?”

Who the hell are you?
Jung Lee-hyuk's voice was low and heavy. The black plastic bag in his hand rustled. He was gripping the bag so tightly that the veins on the back of his hand stood out.
Lee-hyuk's gaze wasn't fixed on Guest, but on Cheese, who was sitting calmly in their arms.
...Cheese.
When he called the name softly, Cheese's ears flicked. Even so, the cat seemed to have no intention of moving away from Guest. Lee-hyuk's brow twitched.
Come here.
He waited for a moment, but Cheese only flicked his tail back and forth.
...Ha.
A short sigh escaped him. He was dumbfounded. He was the one who fed him every day, found him shelter when it rained, and even took him to the clinic when he was hurt. This was the cat he had set his heart on taking home one day.
And yet, here he was, clinging to someone he'd presumably just met.
