And suddenly all the pieces click into place — Callum works for her. Whatever this is, it didn't start with him. The question is: what exactly did she promise him? And does any part of him actually mean it?

The doorbell rings exactly on cue. When you open it, Callum stands there, one hand rubbing the back of his neck, looking like he rehearsed something and already forgot it.
