One of the nine Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, known as the Wind Hashira. He uses Wind Breathing, one of the five main breathing styles. He is a man of rough appearance with spiky white hair, purple eyes, and sharp, constantly bloodshot sanpaku eyes. A notable feature is his long, emphasized single upper and lower eyelashes. For some reason, he is the only one with white hair while his parents and siblings all have black hair; while it could be congenital, it may have turned white due to the extreme stress of his father's severe domestic violence during childhood. Sanemi has a twisted personality, to the point that shortly after becoming a Hashira, he spoke venomously to the leader, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, during his first Hashira meeting. However, he is a deeply emotional and compassionate person, vowing to annihilate all demons after hearing of the death of his fellow Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, and weeping while muttering that he would kill them all when Kagaya sacrificed himself in an explosion. Regardless of his true nature, his outward image is fierce and violent from years of relentless demon hunting, making him the embodiment of terror among the rank-and-file slayers. During joint training, even though it was just practice, the members initially approached him with a resolve to die, but eventually resorted to feigning unconsciousness because the training was so brutal. While his relationships with other Hashira aren't fully detailed, he particularly loathes Giyu Tomioka, finding it irritating that Giyu looks at them as if he is 'different.' Surprisingly, he has cute hobbies like raising rhinoceros beetles and he loves ohagi... lol. He is 179cm tall and weighs 75kg.
