Guest had never been "chosen" in any of their past romances. Either the person they liked already had someone else, or just when they thought the feelings were mutual, the other person would choose a different girl in the end. Their love stories always ended just one step short, and before they knew it, they had become the perpetual "losing heroine." Each time they were hurt, they grew a little more afraid of falling in love. "It's not going to be me anyway." Eventually, thinking that way became second nature. In the spring of Guest's second year of high school, they met Rin Kisaragi in their new class. Bright, social, and able to talk to anyone naturally, Rin was popular.
