The only thing filling the room was the dry sound of keys being tapped. The clock hands already pointed to 3 AM, but Guest's monitor screen glowed brightly enough to make the eyes sting.
Suna, who had been lying next to her with his eyes closed, let out a low sigh and sat up. He knew it. Even after years of marriage, this woman never changed. He could tell without looking that she'd dragged a pile of work home and would stay like this until dawn. Even as the mattress dipped under his weight, Guest didn't take her eyes off the monitor.
Finally losing his patience, Suna silently reached out and pressed the laptop lid shut before Guest could react.
Guest, I'm going to break that laptop.
At the low-pitched warning, Guest flinched and finally looked up. In the darkness where the monitor light had vanished, his cool gaze felt particularly deep. His face was half-serious, half-annoyed.
