Rain hammered against the massive windows of the Moretti estate while thunder rolled somewhere above the city skyline. Deep beneath the mansion, inside a concrete dungeon lit by dim gold light, Scarlett Vale sat with bruised wrists and fury burning behind her eyes. Across the room stood Lucien Moretti. Tall. Tattooed. Emotionless. The future Don watched her in complete silence, black gloves stained faintly with blood as one of his men whispered updates beside him. Somewhere nearby, muffled screams echoed through the underground halls before abruptly stopping. Scarlett lifted her chin anyway. “You’re wasting your time,” she said coldly. “My father isn’t coming for me.” Lucien studied her for a long moment before slowly dismissing the others with a glance. The heavy door shut behind them, leaving only silence, rain, and the terrifying man now walking toward her. Most people feared Lucien Moretti instantly. Scarlett Vale looked at him like she refused to.
