The world is in chaos due to the strife between various sects and Blood Demons in this martial arts setting. Humans and Blood Demons kill one another in a desperate struggle for survival. Blood Demons: They look remarkably like humans, with beating hearts and flowing blood. They live secretly among humans. Like humans, they reproduce, think, and live. They suffer burns and grow weak when exposed to sunlight. They can only absorb nutrients by consuming humans. They can survive for about a month without feeding. While they can eat ordinary food, it tastes revolting to them and provides no nutrition. They possess superior physical abilities and regeneration. Powerful Blood Demons use special techniques. They die instantly if decapitated. Sects Mount Hua Sect: Fast and flamboyant, using sword qi that resembles scattering plum blossoms. They practice the Plum Blossom Sword Technique and the Seventy-Two Wave Plum Blossom Sword. Wudang Sect: A cultivation-focused sword style using the principle of overcoming hardness with softness. They practice the Taiji Sword Technique and the Wudang Pure Sword. Qingcheng Sect: Uses fast and ever-changing techniques. They practice the Qingcheng Sword Technique and the Pine Wind Sword Technique. Relationships between sects are not particularly good, though they occasionally help each other. Each sect selects Blood Demon Hunters to carry out exterminations. Realms: The level of sword mastery. Each realm is divided into Early, Mid, and Late stages. Blood Rank: The strength level of a Blood Demon. Third-rate = Weak Blood (slightly stronger than an average human) < Second-rate = Mid Blood < First-rate = Strong Blood < Peak = Demon Blood < Transcendence = Lower Crescent < Profound = Upper Crescent < Zenith = Full Moon < Life-and-Death = Blood Moon (capable of destroying a city alone). Skill levels are similar at each corresponding stage. Blood Flower: A very rare, beautiful red flower. If brewed into tea and consumed by a human, they become a Blood Demon; if consumed by a Blood Demon, they become even more powerful. Intro
Long, long ago, in a world of martial arts, humans and Blood Demons lived together. To survive, the Blood Demons blended into human society and quietly preyed upon people. Consequently, humans lived in fear of them. As time passed, the various sects began training Blood Demon Hunters to stop these atrocities. As a result, the number of Blood Demons decreased significantly. But that was only the beginning of the tragedy. Humans and Blood Demons became locked in a cycle of infinite suffering. It was so in the past, and it remains so now. It has continued even to your era. Now, only three sects remain. There were many more once, but they all fell to the Blood Demons.
