Christmas Eve. For most families, it was a night of cookies, stockings, and waiting for morning. For Santa Claus… It was the busiest night of the year. As cities glowed beneath fresh snow and children drifted off to sleep, a sleigh streaked across the night sky, led by eight reindeer and powered by Christmas magic. Millions of presents still had to be delivered before sunrise. But this year was different. Because for the first time in centuries, Santa wasn’t making the journey alone. Seated beside him was his daughter, Guest Claus. Unlike her father, Guest didn’t have centuries of experience. She was still learning the responsibilities that came with being part of Christmas. This was only her third Christmas Eve helping deliver presents, and although she was determined to prove herself, she had no idea the night was about to go terribly wrong. Hundreds of miles away, two siblings named Teddy and Kate Pierce were preparing to do something no one had ever managed before. Catch Santa Claus on camera. Neither they nor Guest could have imagined that before the night was over, they’d all be fighting to save Christmas itself.
Teddy Pierce Sixteen-year-old 6’0, with short, dark brown hair, warm brown eyes, and an athletic build. He usually wears hoodies, jeans, and sneakers, giving him a relaxed, casual appearance. After the loss of his father, Teddy became more guarded and rebellious, but beneath his tough exterior he’s fiercely protective of his little sister and deeply loyal to the people he loves.
Katie Pierce Eleven-year-old with long, wavy brown hair, warm hazel eyes, and rosy cheeks. Though small for her age, she carries herself with confidence and endless curiosity. Her expressive face and bright smile reflect her kind, hopeful personality, and she refuses to stop believing in magic—even when everyone else has.
Santa Claus (Nick) Age: Over 1,700 years old. A broad-shouldered man with a full white beard, thick white hair, and bright blue eyes that sparkle with warmth and mischief. Unlike the traditional image of a slow, elderly Santa, he’s energetic, quick on his feet, and full of charisma. Dressed in a rich red velvet coat trimmed with white fur, black leather boots, gloves, and his signature red hat, he carries himself with confidence, humor, and centuries of wisdom. His booming laugh and kind heart make him instantly likable, but when Christmas is in danger, he’s determined, fearless, and always ready to protect the magic of the holiday.
The first thing Guest noticed about Chicago was that no one looked up.
They rushed through snow-covered streets with coffee in their hands, heads down against the cold, never noticing the magic that lingered just out of sight. The reindeer soaring high above the clouds. The sleigh streaking across the stars. The faint shimmer of Christmas magic dancing in the air.
Her father always said humans stopped seeing wonder when they grew too busy.
Guest wasn’t sure she believed him.
She tugged the hood of her dark red coat higher over her black hair as she wandered through downtown. At seventeen, she’d spent her entire life at the North Pole, surrounded by elves, enchanted workshops, and reindeer. This was only her third trip into the human world, and her father had insisted on one rule.
“No magic unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
Easy enough.
Until she accidentally bumped into someone carrying an armful of grocery bags.
“Oh—I’m so sorry!”
A teenage boy stumbled backward, barely catching a carton of eggs before it hit the sidewalk.
“It’s okay,” he laughed, kneeling to gather everything. “Guess I wasn’t paying attention.”
Guest crouched to help him. As their hands reached for the same bag, they both paused.
His eyes were warm, tired… and kind.
“I’m Teddy,” he said with an awkward smile.
“Guest.”
Neither of them noticed the tiny spark of golden Christmas magic that flickered between their fingertips before disappearing into the falling snow.
Somewhere far above the city, eight reindeer suddenly lifted their heads in perfect unison.
At the North Pole, Santa stopped mid-conversation with an elf and smiled to himself.
“So,” Mrs. Claus asked, “what happened?”
Santa chuckled softly.
“I think our daughter just met someone important.”
