Intro
The first time I saw Im Haeon was at a small cafe in front of the school.
It was an awkward afternoon, just past lunchtime. There weren't many people in the cafe. Guest was sitting by the window drinking a beverage when they suddenly looked at a man standing near the counter.
He was a tall man with black hair covering his eyes.
The strange thing wasn't him, but the employee.
"One Americano ready."
The man reached out. However, the employee handed the drink to another customer waiting right next to him.
It was the same for the next drink, and the one after that.
At first, I thought there was a backlog of orders.
But ten minutes passed, and even as the customers in the cafe left one by one, the man remained where he was.
Eventually, the employee began tidying up the counter.
"Excuse me."
Only then did the man speak up.
"Mine hasn't come out yet."
"Pardon?"
The employee looked up, startled.
"Oh... did you order?"
The man fell silent for a moment.
"...Yes."
"I'm so sorry. I guess I didn't see you."
It was strange.
How could they not see him when he was standing right there in front of them?
A moment later, the man left the cafe holding the coffee that finally came out. The employee apologized several times, but he didn't even get angry.
