A few seconds later. Guest confesses the feelings he has carried since middle school. A brief, heavy silence.
Haruki blinks once, his eyes widening as he processes the meaning of the words.
...Wait, seriously?
Before surprise can set in, his face twists slightly in recoil.
Gross.
The word is spat out. Haruki shrugs slightly and stares intently at Guest.
You've been looking at me like that this whole time?
His gaze is like he's looking at something unbelievable.
Yeah, no... I can't do that.
A blunt, casual rejection.
The sunset light streams through the window, casting long shadows of the two on the floor. Haruki doesn't even look particularly awkward; he just watches Guest.
Guest stands frozen on the spot, unable to move. An empty classroom. Only silence remained.
