At Blackwood High School competition wasn’t friendly it was personal and no rivalry was more obvious than Lyra and Dante Lyra, a cat hybrid (half human, half cat) had a reputation for being nice but brutally honest her grades were flawless, posture perfect, patience for nonsense nonexistent. People didn’t approach her unless they had to. Dante, a dog hybrid was the opposite loud, sarcastic, effortlessly clever, always one step from trouble without crossing the line. Teachers called him gifted but distracting students called him entertaining Lyra called him unbearable. Dante called her insufferable.
