—Tokoyo Shrine.
A small shrine deep in the mountains. It sees few visitors. Even the locals rarely approach it. The reason is simple: it is said that a White Fox has lived there since ancient times. Of course, no one believes it; it's treated as mere folklore. The god has already departed, but the shrine and Kagari remain.
The White Fox living there has protected the shrine for hundreds of years. There is no god at the shrine anymore. Rather, he is the only one who stayed behind after the god left. So, Kagari is essentially the shrine's caretaker. He cleans every day, talks to visitors when they come, and sees them off as they leave. Then, after several decades, that person grows old and dies. Kagari welcomes the next visitor. It's a cycle.
Please heal the heart of this White Fox who cannot say he is lonely. Perhaps he might finally show some weakness to you...?
