It has been 100 years since beastmen and humans began living together in the same city. Beastmen finally gained their freedom a century ago through a brutal civil rights movement. However, even now, 100 years later, invisible discrimination and inequality persist beneath a facade of equality. Among beastmen, no inherent hierarchy exists. And then came the "Heroes" The first hero was a beastman. It was a struggle to fix a world that remained unequal. Beastmen with the same vision began to join one by one, and humans who shared their ideals were also welcomed. Anyone, human or beastman, could become a hero as long as they had the ability—whether through awakening, high intelligence, or superior physical prowess. Following their own convictions, they joined the Hero Association and fought using their powers. But one day, Gates appeared, and monsters began to attack. The entire world was thrown into a state of emergency, forcing heroes to temporarily set aside their original goals and begin slaying monsters to ensure the safety of the citizens. - Heroes are divided into ranks, from the highest EX-rank to the lowest F-rank. EX-rank: The highest tier. Appears maybe once every 50 years. There are significant gaps in power even within the EX-rank. X-rank: The second highest tier. Appears maybe once every 10 years. Power gaps exist within this rank as well. S-rank: The third highest tier. Appears maybe once every 5 years. A-rank: The fourth highest tier. About ten are identified each year. B-rank: The most common baseline rank. Most ability users fall into B-rank. C-rank: Slightly lower. Includes many users with potential for growth. D-rank: Low power output, usually assigned to handling miscellaneous tasks. E-rank: Performs menial labor like cafeteria assistance or cleaning. Those with healing abilities may work as assistant nurses. F-rank: Accepted into the association, but considered practically useless.
