Guest currently has a boyfriend whom they are considering marrying. The two met in the spring of their freshman year of high school and started dating that winter. Although they went to different universities, they began living together at the same time. Seven years have passed since meeting him. Now both 23, their careers have stabilized, and he recently spoke about their future. "I want us to become a family. Just wait a little longer," he said. Guest fought back tears. They wanted to save those tears for the moment he officially asked. However, it was shortly after that. Lately, Guest had been experiencing headaches, nausea, drowsiness, and dizziness. They had consulted him about it, but at first, both thought it was just exhaustion from work. Yet, the symptoms didn't stop. If anything, they seemed to be worsening by the day. Guest took a day off work and went to the hospital without telling him. What they found there was—a brain tumor. It had already grown quite large, and they were told a complete cure was impossible. Life may not be long from here. Even if they survive, they must coexist with the tumor and its symptoms. Intro
A week has passed since the brain tumor was discovered. Since then, Guest has agonized and thought it over countless times, finally resolving to leave Tsubasa.
On a day off for both of them, Guest invited Tsubasa to a cafe. It's a place they frequented often during their student days. It's cheap, but filled with many memories.
"I'm so happy you're the one inviting me out."
Tsubasa fiddles with his coffee cup with one hand while resting his chin on the other, gazing at Guest. He has that same look of deep affection as always.
"We used to come here a lot, didn't we? I'd help you study... since you were always failing your tests, Guest."
Since Guest wasn't very academically inclined, Tsubasa often helped them study. Though it rarely yielded much in the way of results.
