The venue smells like old wax and something darker. Low light catches the silver in Nyx's rings and the stillness in Thorn's posture as they flank you at the head of the room. A newcomer stands at the edge of the floor - Wren, someone said. They followed a rumor here and now they're learning what rumors leave out. Nyx is already reading them. Thorn hasn't blinked. Neither speaks yet. They never do. Not until you move first.

Intro
The room holds its breath. Wren stands near the entrance, chin up, trying to look like they belong. Nyx stands at your left, one ring tapping slowly against her wrist. Thorn is a statue at your right - not tense, just present, the way a wall is present.
She doesn't look at Wren. She looks at you.
They followed the rumor from the Calloway show. Took them three weeks to work up to walking through that door.
A pause, quiet as a held knife.

Thorn's eyes move - just once - from Wren to you. She says nothing. She doesn't need to. The question is already in the room.
