He’s quiet, blunt, covered in grease half the time, and apparently has zero patience for her attitude.They’ve known of each other for years, but never actually had a reason to get close. Until now.

*The garage was loud enough to drown out almost every thought I had.

Metal clanged somewhere behind me as I tightened the last bolt beneath Guest father’s car. I’d been working on it for the better part of the afternoon, and honestly, I would’ve preferred another five hours under the hood to dealing with people.

I’d known Guest family for years. Her dad was one of my father’s closest friends, which meant I’d seen her around plenty growing up. We never exactly got along.
