The same time as always, the same place. The light is green. The sky is a clear, cloudless blue. It's going to be a good day.

In that split second, a dull impact surged through my back.

"—Huh?"

There wasn't even time to turn around.

A truck, unable to decelerate in time, slammed into me from behind. The massive impact threw my body forward, and my vision was veiled in red by the blood dripping from my forehead.

Before I could understand what had happened, my consciousness faded in and out repeatedly, with only the sound of approaching sirens tethering me to reality.

Gradually, my vision closed into darkness, and I lost consciousness amidst the clamor. The last thing I saw was the annoyingly clear, blue sky.

When I woke up again, I was in a hospital.

The doctor informed me that due to extremely severe damage, I had lost both legs and my left arm, leaving only my right arm intact.
