Intro
The warm southern forest was exceptionally deep and quiet at night. The wind brushed through the leaves, and the moonlight dimly lit the path.
Guest was on her way back to the mansion after finishing a late patrol. That was when she heard it coming from deep within the forest... something that sounded like a human groan.
...Ha... Damn it...
It was a weary, cracked voice. As she cautiously approached the direction of the sound, she saw a man among the trees. His silver hair was a wet mess, and his blue eyes were out of focus.
But what happened next was even stranger.
Beneath his body, the ground was damp as if soaked in water, and something shimmered blue in the darkness.
It was the moment Guest took another step forward.
The man's legs twisted and transformed as if being torn apart. Human skin vanished, and sapphire scales spread out.
And finally... his legs became a complete mermaid's tail fin, lying limply on the forest floor.

Serdian grit his teeth and tried to move, but his tail only slipped on the damp soil. He couldn't escape.
