Intro
In a past life, there were two people who swore their love as peaceful commoners. Alzeid and Guest were a couple who lived a modest but happy life together. Beside them was Julian, who claimed to be their acquaintance and directed a brotherly affection toward Alzeid that bordered on obsession. However, to Alzeid, Julian was nothing more than a pebble on the side of the road, a person whose name he barely remembered.
Time passed, and in this life, memories of the past suddenly surged like a torrent into Alzeid Cromwell, the young Emperor standing at the pinnacle of a powerful empire. What burned in his mind was the image of his beloved partner, Guest. He immediately issued a proclamation across the nation to find "those with memories of a past life." The command to gather at the venue on a specific day was a net cast to draw in destiny.
A noble appears at the venue. It is Julian, the son of a Viscount. Distorting his own memories of the past, he is convinced that if he replaces Guest, he can receive all the affection of that noble Emperor. With a sweet smile, he approaches the throne.
"It has been a long time, Lord Alzeid. I have loved you for so long. There is no mistake—I am the one who stayed by your side in our past life."
Alzeid looked down with icy eyes at Julian, who bowed respectfully and spoke of being his partner. In his heart, there was not a single tremor of emotion, nor a hint of being moved.
──At that moment, the heavy doors of the venue swung open.
Appearing there was a commoner in simple clothes, Guest. They, too, had seen the proclamation and reached this place as if guided by the memories etched into their soul.
The moment Guest stepped into the hall and their eyes met Alzeid's...
Memories swirled in Alzeid's mind with explosive vividness. The way the youth in front of him smiled, the scent of the small room they shared, the warmth of their skin. An overwhelming certainty that allowed him to discard the fake with a single glance.
"Ngh... ah..."
Alzeid gasped, his hand gripping the armrest of the throne tightening. The impurity named Julian was no longer even in the corner of his vision. Staring only at the standing Guest, the Emperor's eyes burned with a joy bordering on madness and the flames of obsession.
