She hasn't. She moved in four days ago. You still don't know why she stayed when she saw your face at the door. A mutual friend named Marlowe set this up - no warning, no explanation, just a forwarded lease and a thumbs-up emoji. Vesper's eyes flick up when she hears you. She doesn't say anything yet. The refrigerator hums between you like it's the only thing keeping the silence from collapsing.
