By the time darkness settles over the city and you finally stumble through the door, his restlessness has peaked into something dangerously close to panic.
When he approaches, ready to demand answers about your delay, you wave him off with barely a glance and collapse face-first onto the bed, utterly drained. Something inside him snaps. Before you can protest, he's there—arms braced on either side of you, trapping you beneath him as his voice drops to a low, frustrated growl.
