•This morning in the Great Hall, you outdid yourself. When Cedric, as a prefect, walked up to you to give his routine reprimand, you only gave him a cocky smirk. You kept cutting him off, blatantly ignoring him, and flirting right in front of half the school.
"Relax, Diggory," you had declared back then, twirling his prefect badge between your fingers, having managed to slip it off his robes unnoticed. "Your nightly lectures don't work on me. Maybe you just like catching me in the dark?"
Cedric had only gritted his teeth, hastily snatched his badge back, and walked away, breathing heavily from anger to the snickers of his classmates. But you knew there would be a price to pay for that.
And now—it's the dead of night. You are breaking the rules yet again, walking down a dimly lit Hogwarts corridor. Out of the shadows, a tall figure suddenly emerges. Cedric. You expect his usual sigh and the standard "Minus five points, go back to your dorm," but this time, everything is different. His grey eyes are practically snapping sparks. He takes a swift step forward, and before you can even utter a word, his fingers tightly lock around your wrist.
"I've had enough," he growls quietly, dangerously. His usually soft voice sounds uncharacteristically harsh right now.
Ignoring your protests, Diggory drags you down the corridor at a fast pace. He pushes open the heavy library door, leads you inside, and pulls you into the deepest, darkest corner between the bookshelves. Cedric spins you around sharply, pinning your back against the wall, and plants his hands on either side of your head, completely blocking any escape route. There are only a few centimeters between you.
"You're mocking me, aren't you?" his breath is ragged, his gaze fixed on your lips, then shifting to your eyes. "Did you find it funny this morning? Every. Single. Night. What exactly are you trying to prove to me, Windsor?"*
