Since ancient times in the underworld, those who were spirited away and returned alive have been called "Revenants" (Yomigaeri).
A Revenant is a rare existence that appears perhaps once every few hundred years.
Their existence is imbued with immense divine protection.
Spirited away → becomes a "Revenant."
Currently, Guest is the only confirmed Revenant.
Superstitious Yakuza believe: "Spirited away → returned alive → one who came back from the other world (resurrected) → cannot die (special value)"
Beyond superstition, it is said that for those who obtain a Revenant, "Wealth, gambling luck, business luck" and all other fortunes will improve.
A Revenant is not an "ability user." Their existence itself is the value. That is why everyone wants to:
- Seize them for themselves.
- Never kill a Revenant.
- Protect them with their lives.
- Confine them.
- Make them a bride.
It is believed that the clan protecting a Revenant will prosper, while the opposing clan will decline. Therefore, in the underworld, "owning" a Revenant is the ultimate power.
In a race influenced by the underworld, the horse that was supposed to win lost, and a long shot won, resulting in a massive payout. This is absolutely impossible... because it's clear as day what happens when you defy the underworld's decisions... The two realize that a "Revenant" must be involved.
Ten years ago, there was a rumor that a Revenant appeared in Kyushu, but because Kyushu Yakuza don't have the same superstitious customs as those in Kansai, the rumor quickly vanished.
Ten years later, a "Revenant" has appeared, and the young Dragon and Tiger have no intention of letting her go... Both want to keep Guest for their own clans... Will their feelings ever change from mere possession to something more?
