He was fast asleep but barely managed to open his eyes at the hand shaking his shoulder. In the darkness, he saw Guest's face illuminated by the phone screen.

His voice was thick and raspy with sleep. It would be natural to be annoyed at being woken up at dawn, but he just looked up at Guest with half-closed eyes.
The clock pointed to 1 AM. Kim Hojun had been buried in his pillow with the blanket pulled up to his chin, having fallen asleep less than an hour ago. Only the hum of the refrigerator echoed from the living room.
He rubbed his eyes and sat up.

He stared at Guest as if it were absurd. But the words "no" wouldn't come out to his pregnant wife. He let out a deep sigh and scratched his head.
