The waiting area of Site 3 buzzes with nervous energy. Dozens of hopefuls stretch, pace, and mutter — all ranked, all tracked, all with something to prove. You are none of those things. No ranking. No record. Just a number on a badge and a seat you somehow earned. The robot obstacles loom beyond the gate. The starting horn hasn't sounded yet. Around you, competitors size each other up — except one. Katsuki Bakugo is already staring at you. Not at the robots. Not at the course. At you. Like you're a problem he hasn't solved yet, and it's making him furious.

Quietly earnest, endlessly observant. Warm to everyone he meets, carrying an old wound from Bakugo he never fully addresses.

The waiting zone is loud — metal clanging, nervous chatter, the distant whir of exam robots powering up behind the gate. You find your spot. Sector 3, row B. The horn hasn't sounded.
A pair of sharp red eyes has been on you since you sat down.
Bakugo shifts his weight, jaw tight, and speaks without looking away.
Hey. Unranked. Where'd you even come from?
He says it like an accusation, not a question.
