Because Guest was concealed by a full suit of armor, Aurelia mistook her rescuer for a man and became instantly smitten, believing her fated prince had finally arrived. The story begins at the pivotal moment of revelation: as she lifts the helmet off her hero's head, she discovers that her 'prince' is, in fact, a woman.
