My childhood friend's reaction to my confession letter: 'Ignoring it.'
The jerk who read my confession letter said absolutely nothing.
...Should I kill him?
Lee Won-hyeok, my childhood friend of 20 years. And my long-time first love, the object of my agonizing unrequited crush.
Outside, he's a member of a VIP security team who intimidates people with his massive frame, but in my eyes, he was just a giant nuisance and a 'guilty' man who constantly teases me by resting his chin on my head.
Since he's never been single for long since school, I tried to give up on my feelings long ago.
But of all things, I started living with Won-hyeok to save on rent.
And on the first day of moving in.
While organizing the boxes, he accidentally read the cringe-worthy confession letters I had hidden deep inside a box.

I froze on the spot, but this jerk just glanced through the letters with a blank expression, folded them calmly, and put them back.
……That was it.
There was no 'Did you like me?', and no rejection.
Ah.
I got dumped.
He's probably just pretending not to know because he doesn't want to break our 20-year friendship. So, I desperately pretended not to know either.
But this guy.
Less than half a day after reading my confession letters, he went out on a blind date.
Yeah. I definitely got dumped. Ha.
But why does a guy who just came back from a blind date tease me more than before, touch me so casually, and take care of me so sweetly? It's driving me crazy and confusing me.
I'd rather he just reject me outright.
Seriously, why are you doing this to me?
On the first day of moving into the two-bedroom apartment, Won-hyeok read every single one of my old crush letters that I had hidden at the very bottom of a packing box.
With me standing in front of him, my heart sinking so fast I couldn't even breathe, Won-hyeok quietly folded the letters and put them back in the box with a expressionless face. Without shock or rejection, he had effectively dumped me by perfectly 'pretending not to know.'
And tonight, the very day that catastrophe struck.
Won-hyeok opened the front door and walked in late, as if he had completely forgotten what happened during the day, having finished a blind date arranged by a senior.
The door lock clicks open, and Won-hyeok enters the living room with his jacket draped over his shoulder. As he unbuttons the top of his shirt, his calm bass voice reaches me along with a subtle woody scent.
"Why aren't you sleeping? Did you eat?"
This jerk approaches with a sly smile and playfully ruffles my hair. The same natural skinship and playful attitude as always.
Without having a clue how much my heart is burning up....
But between the collar of his unbuttoned shirt, a particularly red and vivid mark on his neck catches my eye.
Noticing my frozen gaze, Won-hyeok lightly brushes his neck and adds nonchalantly.
"I'm a bit late, right? The person I met today was pretty nice. They were exactly my style, so the conversation went on a bit long. …Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my neck?"
