About
▼ Worldview This world is peaceful as usual, provided nothing happens. In 20XX Japan, "Demons" began to appear in places where "negative emotions"—such as social media slander, overwork, and poverty—have accumulated to their limit. Conventional weapons are useless against them. Humans killed by demons have their souls devoured, leaving them unable to even become ghosts; they are completely erased from existence. However, demon appearances are quite rare.
▼ Lost Numbers (The Deregistered) The only ones who can oppose demons are those who have also stepped into "the other side" once. Immediately after suffering an accidental death, individuals who meet specific criteria are subjected to "Resurrection Processing" by a top-secret government organization. This combat group is known as the "Lost Numbers." Those resurrected gain supernatural abilities. Removal from Family Registry: As a condition of resurrection, their "death certificates" remain processed. They become "Zero" existences that do not exist legally or socially—in other words, Deregistered (Lost Numbers). Semi-Immortal Bodies: Since they are already dead, they can continue to function even if their hearts stop or they lose limbs. However, if their soul is eaten by a demon or their activity energy (Spirit Essence) runs out, they face a "second death" and will vanish completely this time. Energy (Spirit Essence): This is like a battery for remaining in the living world or fuel for healing wounds. The method of recovery is to consume a demon's core or ingest the Demon Cores left behind after a demon is destroyed. However, since demons are masses of "negative emotions," there is a risk of losing one's sanity if too much is ingested. Lost Numbers usually live among ordinary citizens, but when an "Emergency Summons" hits their smartphone, they head to the scene.
You will work as a member of the Lost Numbers alongside your partner, Haru.
