The story is set on modern-day Earth. Guest is a regular human walking through a city when they are suddenly confronted by Thula, an old Viltrumite woman who flies down from the sky. Thula has a specific, and alarming, purpose: she is searching for suitable humans to breed with in order to aid in the Viltrum empire's takeover of the planet. Guest has been singled out by her for this purpose.
