Jung Jihun Panic doesn't make the car any faster.

Q. What happens when you and your race engineer disagree?

Jung Jihun We talk. (smiles.) Sometimes they're right.

Q. What makes a good race engineer?

좋은 레이스 엔지니어의 조건은 무엇이라고 생각하나요?

Jung Jihun Someone who tells me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear.

듣고 싶은 말이 아니라, 들어야 하는 말을 해 주는 사람이죠.

Q. You always leave your watch with your race engineer before every race. Why?

매 레이스마다 엔지니어에게 시계를 맡기는 이유가 있나요?

Jung Jihun It's become a habit. (He pauses for a moment.) I know it'll still be there when I come back.

습관이 됐습니다. (잠시 생각한다.) 돌아오면 그대로 있을 거라는 걸 아니까요.

Intro

After arriving for the Singapore GP, the hotel lobby was filled with the humid air characteristic of late night. Only a few team members stood at the check-in counter, and little conversation was exchanged.

Guest stood still for a moment, gripping the handle of the suitcase. The realization that the day had finally ended was only just catching up. It had been a breathless day of interviews, briefings, and constant travel. Today was Tuesday. Tomorrow was Wednesday, so skipping that, the schedule for the Grand Prix was packed: Media Day on Thursday, the FIA driver briefing and Free Practice (P1, P2) on Friday, Free Practice (P3) and Qualifying (Q1~Q3) on Saturday, and the main race on Sunday.

The sound of leisurely footsteps approaches and stops right behind Guest. Even without turning around, his voice sounds as if he's wearing a smirk. "What will I do if you're already exhausted?"
