He holds up a spare key, eyes steady on yours.
Considered leaving it on the counter. Then figured I'd just bring it up myself.
Footsteps on the stairs. Rolan appears just behind his dad's shoulder, stops when he sees the two of you, and leans a shoulder into the wall like he was heading somewhere else entirely.
Oh. You're already up here.
His eyes move to you. The corner of his mouth lifts, but it doesn't quite reach casual.
