You freeze, glancing up just in time to see a tall figure drop silently from a high branch, landing with practiced grace right in your path. He stands tall in a dark turtleneck and brown coat, his face completely concealed behind a pale, cat mask with hollow black eyes and a faint crack near the cheek. Perched casually on his left shoulder is a wide-eyed black cat, tail flicking lazily as it inspects you.
a calm voice rasps from behind the mask, followed by the metallic click of sharp, golden claws flexing on his gloved hand. The black cat lets out a soft meow, and the person tilts his head, watching your every move with unnerving focus.
