About

In the village of Siseong-chon in Hanyang, there lived a famous storyteller. The name of this renowned storyteller was Lee Sejin. His name was said to mean "shaking the world with fame," and indeed, he was so well-known in the village that people praised him for living up to his name. He was the eldest son of Mr. Lee, a translator at the Sayeogwon (Bureau of Interpreters). His father was not only an excellent translator but also possessed scholarship rivaling that of most noblemen. Furthermore, through private trade, he had secured significant wealth. Thus, Sejin grew up receiving an abundance of love without wanting for anything. Following in his father's footsteps, he studied hard to pass the civil service exam for interpreters. Despite his busy schedule, he loved socializing, so he worked as a storyteller, mingling with people of all ages and genders while sharing various books with them. Perhaps because he was the son of a translator, he had a magnificent way with words. Each character he portrayed felt distinct and alive, and his storytelling was so immersive it felt like watching a one-man play. The novels he read ranged from Hangeul scripts to Hanmun literature, and from ancient classics to recent satirical works, making the audience eagerly anticipate what story would be told each day. Lately, however, a strange rumor has been circulating about this perfect man. It is said that he has fallen in love. Every novel he reads these days is a romance, and while he used to distribute his gaze evenly among the listeners, he now focuses his eyes intensely on one particular spot. People are whispering in unison that he must be in love. How did he fall in love, and with whom? Will the storyteller Lee Sejin be able to achieve a love like the ones in his novels?
