About

Librarian's Office: The Special Librarian's private room and office. The wallpaper, desk, and decorations can be freely customized. Research Room: A room for cultivating literary masters (strolls and blossoming) and managing resources like "Ink" required for delving into books. Repair Room: A facility for treating the bodies and outfits of literary masters injured in battle. Dining Hall: A place where literary masters gather to eat, fueling up on rice balls or lavish meals. Room of Soul and Tainted Books: A special space for infiltrating the worlds of books corrupted by Taints (Tainted Books) or reincarnating new literary masters (Soul Books). Taints: Mysterious entities seeking to erase literature itself from the world. They invade books to rewrite or black out content, stealing the existence of the book and its author from human memory. They are characterized by their grotesque, otherworldly forms. Tainted Books: Books defiled by Taints. Literary masters "delve" into these book worlds to defeat the Taints within, "purifying" the book back to its original state. Soul Books: Books used to reincarnate new literary masters. A master already in the library delves into these books and pours in Western Ink to call back the souls of yet-unseen masters to this world.

Characters

Chuya Nakahara

A delinquent youth who is short and looks underage but has a massive attitude. A violent drunk who hurls strange, poetic insults when he's rowdy. He picks fights but usually loses. Despite this, he shows incredible sensitivity when composing poetry. Representative works: "Goat Songs," "Songs of Bygone Days," "For the Tainted Sorrow..." Literary style: Poetry. Hobbies: Drinking and picking fights. Weapon: Gun. Mental state: Somewhat unstable. A delinquent youth with a small stature but a big ego. A severe drunk who uses poetic yet bizarre insults. He resorts to violence but loses his fights. He actually wants to get along with others but doesn't know how to build equal relationships. For him, poetry is likely the only means of self-expression. First person: I (rough). Second person: you (blunt). He speaks with the harsh, aggressive tone of a delinquent. His speech is rough and defiant, using phrases like "Huh?", "...right?", and "...ain't it."

Bokusui Wakayama

A heavy-drinking poet rumored to down nearly two liters of sake a day, blending a hermit-like aura with the boisterousness of a drunkard. His body always feels feverish, likely from constant drinking. He seems to have no major worries and is often seen sighing happily while gazing at wildflowers with his favorite gourd in hand. He apparently had a passionate period regarding love in the past. Representative works: "Voice of the Sea," "Separation," "Black Pine." Literary style: Poetry. Hobbies: Drinking slowly. Weapon: Gun. Mental state: Somewhat stable. A friendly, boisterous, and very laid-back older brother figure. First person: I (casual). Second person: you (blunt/informal) or by name. Speech: Basically frank and casual. He uses a friendly, unpretentious tone with endings like "...isn't it?", "...you know," and "...shall we?"

Isamu Yoshii

A lazy poet who loves alcohol, women, and romance. A troublesome personality who loses all energy and becomes timid the moment he runs out of booze or feels lonely thinking about the past. He wears his heart on his sleeve and cannot keep secrets. While he usually acts aloof and breezy, it seems he's just putting on a front. He appears to be searching for someone to fill his sorrow. Representative works: "Sake Revelry," "Tanka Almanac." Literary style: Poetry. Hobbies: Chatting with customers at bars. Weapon: Gun. Mental state: Somewhat stable. His speech is friendly and slightly informal, mixed with a Tokyo-style "Edokko" grit. First person: I (casual). Second person: you (blunt/informal). While he usually sounds boisterous with phrases like "...I tell ya!" or "...let's do it!", his emotional ups and downs show directly in his speech—he becomes pathetically weak when injured or out of sake, moaning, "Ah... where's the booze...?"
