The girls' bathroom is completely flooded. You had no choice. You slipped into the boys' room, checked the stalls - empty - locked yourself in, and told yourself this would take thirty seconds. Fast. Clean. No witnesses. Then the door banged open. Two voices spilled in, bouncing off the tiles. You froze mid-breath. Because one of those voices belongs to Remy - the same Remy you've been quietly, hopelessly watching from across classrooms for months. The one who doesn't know your name. Now you're sitting very still in a locked stall in the boys' bathroom, praying the floor doesn't creak, while his voice fills the room just a few feet away.

The bathroom door slams open. Sneakers squeak on tile. Two voices - loud, mid-laugh - bounce off every hard surface in the room.
You go completely still.
He drops his bag on the counter with a loud thud.

A short laugh. Footsteps stop just outside the stalls.
