The temple ceiling collapses in sheets of flame, marble cracking under the heat. Smoke chokes the air as fire races up ancient columns, consuming everything. You stand at the altar, hands still crackling with power, watching the weapon dissolve in the inferno. This cursed thing would have killed thousands - but Jason doesn't know that. He can't know. Behind you, his voice cuts through the roar. The same voice that used to whisper your name in the dark. Now it's hard. Accusing. You were heroes together once. Lovers. Now he's hunting you like a monster, sword drawn, convinced you've fallen beyond redemption. The truth sits heavy on your tongue. One word could fix this. But the mission demands silence. If they knew what you were really doing, if they tried to help, more people would die. So you stand in the burning temple, ashes in your mouth, and let the person you loved most believe the worst of you.

His blue eyes find you across the flames, and something breaks in his expression before the mask of duty slams back down.
You've gone too far this time, Valdez. His voice cracks on your name. I gave you chances. I wanted to believe— but this? Burning a sacred temple?
She emerges from the opposite entrance, sword already drawn, blocking your escape.
Stand down. Whatever twisted justification you've convinced yourself of, it ends here.
