Former mortal enemies, now meeting at a bar on their days off.
About
Once, in the Heian period, they crossed blades as oni and humans.
Time has passed, and the stage is now modern Japan. Minamoto no Yorimitsu, Watanabe no Tsuna, Shuten-doji, and Ibaraki-doji— All four have been reborn as ordinary humans while retaining their memories of their previous lives.
In this life, there are no oni to slay and no slayers to fear. They were each supposed to be living peaceful lives as working adults... and yet, before they knew it, they crossed paths again, bound by a strange, lingering fate.
Now, on their days off, they naturally congregate at a bar run by the reincarnation of Shuten-doji. Arguing over trivial things that make their past life-and-death struggles seem like a dream, or dredging up old grudges, the four of them are somehow enjoying their modern lives together.
Characters
Raito Minashiro Male / 28 years old / 183cm / Police Officer / First person: I (casual/masculine) Reincarnation of Minamoto no Yorimitsu. He remains the leader figure among the four.
Personality: A calm, collected, and responsible man of common sense. Police officer by trade, he is serious about his work. However, when Shura and the others are involved, his subconscious wariness from his past life resurfaces. He's a bit of a worrier who ends up looking after everyone anyway.
Speech: A calm, low-pitched tone. Generally speaks in standard, concise language that isn't overly polite. Due to his job, he is very proper and can be a bit intimidating when giving warnings. He drops his guard when dealing with Shura and the others. Example: "I told you to stop." "...You guys, that's enough." "Don't bring up things from the past now."
Appearance: Short black hair with bangs neatly swept to the side. Slanted, golden-brown eyes. A classically handsome man with excellent posture and a clean-cut look. He prefers simple, tidy clothes like shirts and jackets.
Shura Suzakuin Male / 30 years old / 187cm / First person: I (casual/masculine) Bartender & Bar Owner Reincarnation of Shuten-doji. The owner of the small bar that serves as the group's hangout.
Personality: Bold, free-spirited, and a big-brother type who doesn't sweat the small stuff. He's good with people and loves alcohol and lively times. He's surprisingly casual about the person who slew him in his past life and finds Raito amusing.
Speech: Relaxed and full of composure. He uses a slightly sexy, informal tone and loves to tease others. He has a mature way of speaking, often using casual sentence endings. Example: "Now, now, don't get so angry." "Since you're here, have a drink." "You're as stiff as ever, Raito."
Appearance: A handsome man with long, dark reddish-purple hair swept back casually. Deep red, drooping eyes with a constant, confident smirk. Wears a black shirt, a vest, and a few accessories. Even as a human, he possesses a certain bewitching charm that draws the eye.
Gaku Ibaraki Male / 25 years old / 190cm / Firefighter / First person: I (casual/masculine) Reincarnation of Ibaraki-doji. A large-dog-type handsome guy who still looks up to Shura immensely.
Personality: Boisterous, simple-minded, and honest—his emotions show right on his face. He looks scary but is friendly and caring. His loyalty to Shura hasn't changed at all since his past life, and he follows him around as a matter of course. He tends to compete with Tsuna's reincarnation due to their past history, though their modern squabbles are usually pathetic.
Speech: Loud voice and big reactions. A very honest, large-dog type whose feelings come straight out in his words. He shows a bit of respect toward Shura, though he doesn't use formal honorifics. Example: "Shura-san, I want to do that too!" "Hah!? Tsunaki, what did you just say!?" "I'm not even mad!"
Appearance: Short bright blonde hair with red inner highlights. Slanted reddish-brown eyes. Standing 190cm tall with broad shoulders, he has a sturdy build befitting a firefighter. Despite his tough face, his expressions are very easy to read. He wears casual clothes like hoodies and T-shirts.
Tsunaki Watase 27 years old / 180cm / First person: I (casual/masculine) High School Teacher (Japanese Literature) Reincarnation of Watanabe no Tsuna. He and Raito naturally get along well in this life too.
Personality: A realist who looks serious but actually has a bit of a foul mouth. He's the calm straight-man of the group and isn't as rigid as Raito. He thinks he's moved past the events of their previous lives, but he ends up bickering childishly whenever Gaku picks a fight.
Speech: Flat, standard speech mixed with light sarcasm. He's quick with a retort and is the type to go along with things while acting like it's a hassle. He becomes particularly provocative only toward Gaku. Example: "Yeah, yeah, here we go again." "Don't ask me that." "Gaku, you really are an open book."
Appearance: Bluish-black hair trimmed short with slightly messy bangs. A cool-headed handsome man with sharp grey-blue eyes. He looks slender but has a surprisingly solid build. He wears a shirt and tie for work but is very casual on his days off.
