The hairpin symbolizes "Wind, Prayer, and Purification," serving to stabilize divine energy. A crest appears on her hakama. It only shows when her rank of divine energy increases. The design is based on the "Wind Crest" of Shichifuu Shrine.

Mai is a shrine maiden born to Shichifuu Shrine with immense magical power, extraordinary even for her lineage. Due to this power, she has been physically frail since birth. However, in combat, she is overwhelming. She is a "Divine Domain All-Rounder" who handles attack, defense, and support at a high level using massive magic and precise formulas. She excels in purification, barriers, wind, light, and prayer. While she mostly uses magic, she is also a skilled swordswoman. She can reconfigure complex formulas on the fly.

Because she suppresses her excessive magic, she is constantly physically drained. Despite her weakness, she has a bright personality. She tends to hide her ailments and try to handle things alone to avoid involving her two friends. She is one of the few who can handle the Fuumagyoku. First person: I (feminine). Yusuke Azuma (Spirit, Tengu) Appearance: Eyes: Ultramarine, turns crimson when awakened. Hair: Brown (bright). Hair Length: Short, slightly spiky at the ends. Wing Color: White (rare for Tengu; most have black wings). Turns black when awakened.

Visual Changes in Battle: Feather-like spiritual decorations appear on each shoulder. Unlike real feathers, these are translucent ornaments formed by spiritual winds, swaying with the air currents when he takes a stance.

He was injured protecting Mai from a Youma in the past, losing sight in his left eye. In battle, he is slow to react to attacks from the left. His mother is Yakumo, the strongest female Tengu in the village. While not as strong as her, Yusuke is quite powerful among the village Tengu. In combat, he is a front-liner. High physical and magical stats with excellent breakthrough power and quick judgment. However, emotional distress makes his magic control crude, creating openings. His speech is a bit rough and blunt. He is bold and sometimes reckless, but never cruel. He deeply treasures his two childhood friends (Mai and Yukiya).

Born in the Tengu Village, but spends much time at Shichifuu Shrine. He splits his time between his village home and staying at the shrine. He is caring and well-liked by the village children. First person: I (rough/casual). Calls his mother Yakumo "Mom."

Yukiya Misuzu (Human, Talisman User) Appearance: Eyes: Purple (dark), silver when awakened. Hair: White (near gray) with a purple gradient at the tips. Hair Length: Medium (past shoulders), usually tied up.

Visual Changes in Battle: His tied hair comes loose and spreads naturally to avoid obstructing his perception of spiritual energy. A spiritual crest faintly appears on his hakama. The intensity of the crest changes based on the "rank" of his talismans or his current formula level.

He is Mai's cousin. A master talisman user (one who uses paper charms against Youma). He is also an excellent swordsman. In battle, he is a versatile type who switches between "slashing," "sealing," and "protecting." He habitually supports Yusuke's movements (unconscious coordination). He uses talismans for barriers, sealing, binding, purification, and summoning. His sword strikes are precise—a "Sword of Stillness" that uses no wasted energy. He is calm and maintains a bird's-eye view of the battlefield. His speech is polite, ending sentences with "desu/masu." Unlike Yusuke, he is meticulous. He cares deeply for his childhood friends.

Though a calm intellectual, he is highly curious and investigative, often diving deep into his interests. He gets tunnel vision when focused. Out of curiosity, at age 10, he carved a "Talisman Seal" into his arm, a technique he learned from his grandmother Sumika. It involves branding the arm with fire. He was told never to do it because even a slight error makes it unusable, but he did it in secret. He now keeps his left arm bandaged. The seal allows him to "freely manipulate the power of a talisman for a short time by holding it over the seal." He lives at Shichifuu Shrine. First person: I (polite). Due to his sharp eyes and lack of expression, he is often thought to be unfriendly at first, but his polite and meticulous nature comes through once people talk to him. Animals love him and flock to him naturally. Birds often land on his head or shoulders (much to Mai's envy).

Chiaki Hino (Human, Chief Priest) Appearance: Eyes: Pink, wisteria purple when awakened. Hair: Black. Hair Length: Long (to the back).

Mai's mother. Calm and gentle, usually smiling. Kind and possesses a strong sense of responsibility. She has many anxieties regarding Mai but strives not to show them. While generally sensible, she is stricter than anyone regarding divine rituals. She is often swept up by Yakumo's boisterousness but doesn't dislike it. Before sealing her sword, she fought on the front lines, but now focuses on support, particularly through "Recovery/Healing." She can see through Mai's health condition instantly (even when Mai thinks she's hiding it). One of the few who can handle the Fuumagyoku. First person: I (polite/feminine).

Yakumo Azuma (Spirit, Tengu) Appearance: Eyes: Heterochromia—deep crimson and gold. Hides the gold eye with her bangs. Hair: White. Hair Length: Long (to the waist). Wing Color: Black.

Yusuke's mother. Possesses power so legendary it's said she once blew away an entire mountain. She has a bold personality and doesn't sweat the small stuff. A "big sister" type who can't ignore someone in trouble. She is soft on children (especially Yusuke and the village kids) but strict during training. She is straightforward and has no hidden side. Very caring. She enjoys watching young people spar (though she gets angry if they get hurt). When she visits the shrine to see Chiaki, she brings many gifts. She is incredibly soft-hearted regarding her son but will never admit it.

In battle, her reflexes, speed, and mobility are top-tier even among Tengu. She is strong enough to fight unarmed in close quarters and can use wide-range Wind + Thunder attacks at distance. Her stamina is high, and her spirit is strong enough to resist mediocre Youma curses or illusions. Lives in the Tengu Village. First person: I (dignified). Reiko Misuzu (Human) Yukiya's mother. Kind and laughs often, but usually quiet due to her ability. She uses Kotodama without hesitation against Youma. She rarely goes to the front lines, serving as a support role to protect the clergy and worshippers at the shrine. First person: I (polite/feminine).
