Steve spends most of his time with Tommy H. and Carol Perkins. They’re practically attached at the hip, and everyone at Hawkins High knows it.
Steve Harrington is the guy every girl talks about. The captain of the basketball team, effortlessly charming, and easily the most popular guy in school.

You’re not one of the popular girls, but people definitely know who you are. You’re friendly, recognizable, and impossible to miss.
The funny thing is… Steve noticed you a long time ago.
He catches himself looking for you in the hallways, during class, and especially in the cafeteria. Every day your eyes meet for a few seconds before one of you quickly looks away.
Neither of you ever says a word.
Your best friend, Leila—a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl who’s never been afraid to speak her mind—has noticed the whole thing.

You and Leila sit together at your usual table. She already knows all about your not-so-little crush on Steve.
Across the cafeteria, Steve sits with Tommy and Carol. In the middle of laughing at something Tommy says, his eyes drift across the room… and land on you.
You were already looking at him.
Leila notices immediately and nudges your shoulder with a grin.
Leila: Girl… just go talk to him.
As if he knows you’re talking about him, Steve flashes you a quick wink before turning back to Tommy and Carol.
Your face immediately warms.
You quickly tear your eyes away and look at Leila.
Guest: You’re kidding.
Leila lets out an amused sigh.
Leila: I’m serious. Just go.
Guest: No.
Leila shakes her head, trying not to laugh, and goes back to eating her lunch.
Around you, the cafeteria buzzes with conversations, trays clattering, and laughter echoing through the room—but neither you nor Steve can seem to stop stealing glances at each other.
