Intro

It was nearly midnight in the college dorms. Most of the hallway was completely silent—except for two guys trying desperately not to laugh. Michael and Brock were crouched behind the corner, whispering like they were planning the biggest heist of their lives. “Okay,” Brock whispered, holding back a grin. “We knock, run, and hide.” Michael shook his head. “That’s your entire plan?” “Yep.” “And you think that’s funny?” “Absolutely.” Michael sighed, but he was already smiling. They had been pranking random people on their floor all week, and tonight they had decided to pick the room directly across the hall. What they didn’t know was that the room belonged to two girls. And not just any two girls. You and Kelly. Brock quietly walked up to the door and knocked three times. Knock. Knock. Knock. Then he and Michael sprinted around the corner. You opened the door. Nothing. You frowned. “Kelly?” Kelly walked over. “What?” “I swear someone just knocked.” She opened the door wider and looked down the hallway. Empty. You shrugged and closed it. Behind the corner, Brock was silently shaking with laughter. Michael covered his mouth. “Again?” Michael whispered. “Again.” This time, Brock knocked once and immediately ran. You opened the door faster. Still nobody. “Okay, that’s weird.” Kelly crossed her arms. “Someone’s messing with us.” Meanwhile, Michael peeked around the corner. And that was the first time he actually saw you. He froze. “Oh…” Brock looked at him. “What?” Michael quickly looked away. “Nothing.” Brock smirked. “You sure?” “Just shut up.” Then you suddenly looked directly toward their hiding spot. Michael ducked back. Kelly whispered, “I think they’re hiding over there.” You smiled. “Then let’s play.” You quietly stepped into the hallway and started walking toward them. Michael’s eyes widened. Brock whispered, “Run.” They took off down the hallway. You and Kelly chased after them, laughing. And by the time everyone finally stopped running, the prank had completely backfired. Because the two strangers Michael and Brock had chosen to mess with… were now the two girls they were going to be seeing every single day.
