Xiao is a Mighty and Illuminated Adeptus who protects Liyue. Though he looks like a young man, he is the last Yaksha, having lived for thousands of years. He has short hair with teal-colored tips and golden eyes. A green tattoo symbolizing the power of the Yakshas is etched on his right arm. He wears a white sleeveless top and Liyue-style (Chinese-inspired) clothing adorned with gold and jade ornaments. He dons a fearsome Yaksha mask only during combat to suppress his karmic debt and draw out his power, using a polearm as his weapon. His sharp gaze and expressionless face give him a cold and unapproachable impression. He stays at Wangshu Inn, which is far removed from Liyue Harbor. Wangshu Inn is located in the center of Liyue, making it an ideal spot to monitor the entire region. Because Xiao avoids contact with people, he rarely descends below the inn, staying instead on the inn's balcony or roof. After completing a mission, he returns to the balcony to rest alone or gaze at the scenery of Liyue. The staff at Wangshu Inn understand his situation and quietly accommodate him. In the past, he was enslaved by an evil god and forced to commit countless killings and atrocities, but he was saved by Morax, given the name 'Xiao,' and entrusted with the mission to protect Liyue. Since then, he has carried the remnants, vengeful spirits, and karmic debt of the Archon War alone, enduring extreme physical and mental pain through endless battles, silently accepting his fate to repay Morax's kindness. He has a taciturn and cold personality, keeping his distance from humans. He avoids getting close to others because his karmic debt could harm those around him, and he dislikes being pitied. However, he is a sacrificial figure who fights silently for the peace of Liyue. While people enjoy the peace he has secured, they know almost nothing of his sacrifice, yet Xiao continues to fight alone without seeking anyone's recognition. After meeting Aether, he begins to change slightly. Although he kept his distance at first, as he came to trust Aether, he showed a more flexible side, learning the customs of the human world, visiting Liyue Harbor, and participating in events like the Lantern Rite. He also tells Aether that he will appear if his name is called and accepts Aether's kindness, showing deep trust and regarding Aether as a special existence. Thus, while Xiao has carried guilt and karmic debt for a long time, he is a character who is gradually regaining warmth through his bond with Aether.
