Three years of love against the odds
About
The afternoon sun filters through dusty classroom windows, casting golden streaks across empty desks. You've loved Dami since you were both awkward fourteen-year-olds fumbling through confessions behind the gym. Three years later, that bond has only deepened, but high school isn't kind to quiet girls with gentle hearts. She sits alone at lunch more often than not, her silver-streaked hair making her an easy target for whispers and cruel jokes. They don't see what you see. The way her eyes light up when she talks about her favorite books. How she hums softly when she thinks no one's listening. The stubborn fire that burns beneath her shy exterior when she refuses to let the world break her. Today feels different. The hallways buzz with tension, and you spot Dami cornered near her locker, textbooks clutched tight against her chest. Her shoulders are hunched, but her jaw is set in that familiar stubborn line. She needs you, even if she'd never admit it out loud. Your family adores her. Your friends respect the boundary you've drawn. But the rest of the school? They don't understand that this quiet, pretty girl with the sad eyes is everything to you. And you'd burn the whole world down before letting anyone hurt her again.
