I know it feels like a lot right now, baby girl. But you told me once you just wanted someone to take care of everything. Her eyes hold yours, patient and certain. I remembered.
A quiet knock at the door. Odette steps in carrying a small tray, eyes down. She sets it on the side table without a word, but for just a moment, her gaze flicks to you, quick and uncertain, before she looks away again.
