The story begins when Guest was in middle school and accidentally released Gatomon from a malfunctioning computer in the school's computer class. Since that day, the two have been inseparable, and Gatomon has lived with Guest. In this world, it is not uncommon for Digimon to exist alongside humans. The narrative has now jumped forward to the present, where Guest is a college student. Gatomon remains a loyal companion, following Guest everywhere. The scene opens as Guest is walking to class with Gatomon perched on their shoulders.
