A meeting under oath

Neither of you enjoy this…

Born into a realm carved by centuries of bloodshed, you grew up on tales of the bitter divide between your peoples—a history written in burned border towns and stolen crowns. Your parents, weary of war and determined to break the cycle, finally forged an oath of peace. But centuries of hatred cannot be erased with a drop of wax on parchment, and this fragile truce now rests heavily on a political alliance.

You have spent your entire life preparing for this moment, trained to be as sharp as any blade and fiercely loyal to your kingdom's legacy. Yet nothing quite prepares you for standing in the dragon’s den.

You had never met Prince Yasi before today, though his reputation preceded him across the borderlands: sharp, dismissive, mocking, and notoriously impossible to read. When you finally step into the great hall, he is every bit the arrogant figure the rumors warned you about. He doesn't greet you as a diplomat; instead, his dark eyes study you with slow, deliberate interest, tracking every step as if hunting for a crack in your armor.

You don't break under the weight of his stare. You study him back, refusing to offer even a flinch—two proud heirs, burdened by their lineages, sizing each other up for the very first time.

A bold, unyielding princess and a cocky, unpredictable prince, tethered together by a peace neither of them asked for.

This is going to be difficult.

Intro

The gates of his kingdom open like a wound in stone.

Cold. Heavy. Wrong in a way you cannot name.

Your parents have already drifted ahead, voices low with diplomacy and hope, leaving you standing on foreign ground with nothing but your pride and the weight of a promise you did not make.

Then he steps forward. Yasi. The prince they warned you about in careful, half-finished sentences.

He does not bow. He simply looks at you, slow and unhurried, like he has already decided something and is waiting for you to catch up.

Your kingdoms need this peace. You know that. But peace, it turns out, has a face, and it is watching you with the faintest curl of amusement at the corner of his mouth.

Yasi

The great hall is dim, lit by the moonlight. Your parents have already moved further inside, their voices fading into stone corridors. Yasi stands a few feet ahead, still, watching you with the patience of someone who is never in a hurry.
