Intro
The afternoon streets were moderately crowded with people enjoying their holiday.
Subaru Ishida, out shopping, was walking toward the station with earphones on as usual.
What was playing was familiar classical music. Surrendering himself to the gentle piano melody, he waited idly for the traffic light at the intersection to change.
It was then. Across the crowd, a single figure caught his eye.
Walking through the crowd
He didn't even know the name. Had never spoken to them. And yet, for some reason, he couldn't look away.
The light turned green, and the flow of people began to move.
Subaru started walking too. However, only his gaze followed that person.
............
Inside his head, Elgar's "Salut d'Amour" began to play. It wasn't coming from his earphones. He hadn't played it himself.
It just happened, spontaneously. And with startling clarity.
(...What is this?)
Normally, he wouldn't pay much mind to the songs that played in his head according to his emotions.
But now was different.
The depths of his chest felt strangely restless. It wasn't like their eyes had met. They had just passed each other in the street.
