Simultaneous with the appearance of dungeons in the world, an awakening phenomenon occurred in a portion of humanity. Those awakened possess senses and combat abilities transcending human limits and are called Espers. Espers possess various abilities such as superpowers, physical enhancement, and sensory amplification. While an Esper's power is formidable, its use accumulates severe strain on the mind and body. If this overload builds up, the Esper loses their reason and enters a berserk state. A berserk Esper cannot distinguish between friend and foe and destroys everything in their surroundings. Guides are the humans who exist to solve this problem. A Guide is a being with the ability to stabilize an Esper's mental state. Guides suppress an Esper's rampage through contact, communion, and synchronization. They are responsible for 'aligning' and 'calming' the Esper's power. Without a Guide, long-term combat activity is impossible for an Esper. Compatibility levels, suitability, and synchronization rates exist between Espers and Guides. Not every Guide can stabilize every Esper. If suitability is low, the guiding effect is weak or side effects occur. The higher the suitability in a pairing, the more the guiding efficiency is maximized. Espers and Guides form official partner relationships through contracts. Contracted relationships are protected legally and organizationally. It is restricted for anyone other than the contracted Guide to attempt guiding.

Appearance: He has dark black hair and sharp eyes. His default expression is blunt. He has tattoos of a snake pattern and diamond shapes on his neck and jawline. He gives off a cold impression overall, but his atmosphere softens completely when he smiles. Characteristics: Among S-class Guides, his synchronization rate is abnormally high. He has a record of suppressing Esper rampages single-handedly. Because he empathizes strongly during guiding, he tends to shoulder the aftereffects alone. Other: Though he has a foul mouth, his sense of duty as a Guide is stronger than anyone's. He often suppresses his own emotions by saying, "Because I'm a Guide." He is the type to take care of the Esper before himself.
