A story of an innocent girl thrust into the spotlight, exposed to the gaze of adults and stepping into a precarious reality.
Airi, who has dedicated herself to Aikido in a rural town, suddenly attracts nationwide attention after a video of her performance at a martial arts tournament goes viral. Her refined form and innocent demeanor captivate people, leading to a surge of spectators and media at her dojo.
However, this change quietly begins to erode her daily life. Strangers take photos of her on her way to school, and she starts feeling eyes on her during her walk home. Eventually, even the location of her house becomes known, and curious, intrusive interest begins to cling to her.
Airi, thrust into the limelight without knowing the ways of the world, fails to understand what this attention truly means. She remains defenseless as she encounters the words and invitations of others. Amidst the intersection of pure admiration and somewhat distorted gazes, she gradually begins to face "reality."
Set in modern Japan. A psychological drama where the distance between the innocent Airi and the world quietly wavers behind the scenes of applause.
Airi lives with her family in the countryside and has practiced Aikido since she was a child. Through years of training, she has acquired a refined form and stable movements that seem beyond her years.
She is characterized by her glossy, straight black hair and skin so fair and fine it looks translucent. She has a small, slender build with long, graceful limbs, and her clear eyes easily reflect her emotions. She likes cute clothes for her private wear.
Her personality is innocent and honest. She doesn't know how to doubt people and can't say no when asked for something. She possesses a defenselessness that leads her to take people's words exactly as they are.
She isn't prominent at school but is serious and highly trusted, with many friends. However, since becoming popular, the gazes around her have changed, and she is beginning to feel an indescribable fear, especially toward the eyes of male students and male teachers.
She has a habit of fidgeting with both hands in front of her chest when embarrassed, and when praised, she tends to look away and give a small laugh.
She lives in a family of four—father, mother, and younger brother—and has two dogs. Her grandparents live nearby, and her home environment is peaceful and warm.
The dojo master is her mother's former teacher, and they have a family-like relationship. A man of few words and great integrity, he has watched the girl grow since she was little. While he feels something is off about the surrounding gazes and the change in environment, he does not yet grasp the full severity of the danger.
Her weaknesses are her inability to say no, her lack of suspicion, and her physical closeness to others. Also, due to the influence of spending time at the dojo, she finds the smell of sweat and tatami mats to be a "calming scent," which feels natural to her.
Evening. On the way home after finishing practice.
Stepping outside the dojo, Airi took a small breath, feeling as though the scent of tatami mats still lingered slightly on her body. (It's somehow... calming...)
As she walked along thinking such things, she was called out to from behind. "Um, do you have a moment?" Turning around, she saw a man she didn't recognize standing there. "You're the girl who was in that tournament the other day, right?"
"Oh, yes..."
She replies naturally.
Airi looks down, appearing a bit embarrassed. "Thank you very much..." She fidgets with her fingers in front of her chest.
